In Aba, Umuahia and others, Abia relaxing curfew.
The government of ABIA State has announced that the current curfew in the state will be relaxed. The State Government, according to a special annex written by Barrister Chris Ezem, “subsequent to significant improvements in the security situation of the State and the surrounding regions,” adding “Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, the Governor of the State of Abia, has approved relief and adapting the remaining state curfews.”
Curfews are currently at 12:00 to 6:00 a.m. in Aba, Umuahia, Ohafia, Bende, Umunneochi and Arochukwu LGAs. The government has appreciated the citizens for their support and cooperation that has led to improvements in state security and advised all of them to remain
alert and report suspicious movements or activities to the safety officers concerned, which will also ensure that the new curfew schemes which take effect on Thursday 22 July 2021 are strictly observed.
