Foreigners arrested for snapping images of court where Kanu was about to appear, according to DSS

Agents of the Directorate of State Services (DSS) arrested two foreigners, thought to be Americans, for allegedly snapping pictures of the Federal High Court in Abuja, as the trial of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, began on Monday. In addition, eyewitnesses allege the secret police attacked the hotel where foreigners were staying and arrested them as they stood on the balcony taking pictures of a brawl between Kanu’s followers and security forces.

In a white Toyota Hilux, officers from the DSS and police drove the foreigners away. Staff at the hotel, who asked to remain anonymous, reported that DSS agents had taken one of the men’s mobile phones after entering the hotel and asking the management to show them the property’s surveillance footage.

An employee of the hotel was seen pleading with the DSS personnel not to drive the foreigners away from the hotel.
