Popular Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has finally spoken up about her family’s ongoing crisis in an emotional 5AM video. The actress appeared before the camera wearing a wig, visibly drained, and opened up about her pain, her love life, and the constant online insults directed at her mother, Rita Daniels.
Why Regina Daniels Decided to Speak Out
In the emotional video, Regina explained that she couldn’t sleep because of the tension in her family. She revealed that her siblings, including her brothers and sisters, have been defending her fiercely. According to her, the situation has caused turmoil in her home, prompting her brother to start a petition that quickly gained massive public support within hours.
“My family is actually in turmoil. It’s crazy. But we’ll definitely come out of it,” she said.
“Stop Insulting My Mom” — Regina’s Message to Nigerians
One of the main reasons Regina made the video was to address people who constantly insult her mother online. The actress passionately begged fans to stop dragging her mother, describing Rita Daniels as her “God on earth.”
“Please stop insulting my mom. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She’s strong. For seven years, she held it down. She tried. You all insulted her, but she tried,” Regina said emotionally.
Regina emphasized that her mother had suffered and sacrificed for her, explaining that God used her success to uplift her family. She noted that she felt indebted to always make her mother happy because of everything she endured while raising her children alone.
“I Fell in Love — It Wasn’t About Money”
Addressing the long-standing rumor that she married billionaire politician Ned Nwoko out of greed, Regina denied the claims, saying her family was never broke and her marriage was based on love.
“I’m ashamed to say it, but I actually fell in love. Everyone said no — my mom, my brothers, everyone. But I did. And you all should stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me, no. We were not broke.”
She also clarified that her mother could not have been “bribed” into accepting her marriage because she was already the breadwinner of the family, training her siblings and providing for the household through her acting career.

Regina Daniels on Ned Nwoko and Her Kids
Despite the current family drama, Regina maintained a tone of respect toward Ned Nwoko, acknowledging that she still cares for him as the father of her children, Muna and Khalifa.
“The only reason I’m not fighting you, Ned, is because I want Mona and Khalifa’s father’s name to be strong. But they can’t answer mine. You have enough kids to answer your name,” she said.
Her Emotional Struggle and Family Support
Regina also revealed how desperate she once felt when her family initially opposed her relationship. In a shocking moment, she recalled that she once considered harming herself just to prove her love.
“I drove out at night. I was going to kill myself if I didn’t marry Ned. Everyone was looking for me. My brothers were fighting, breaking bottles… I even went to the police station and said, ‘Arrest me, my family doesn’t want me to marry the love of my life.’”
Despite the chaos, she insists that what she feels for Ned is real — a combination of care and respect — which, to her, defines true love.
Fans React to Regina Daniels’ Emotional Video
Since the video surfaced, fans across social media have expressed mixed reactions. While some sympathized with Regina and praised her for defending her mother, others felt the actress should have kept her family matters private. However, her courage to speak up at such a vulnerable time has drawn both empathy and admiration.
